The Bob Bandwagon

Well, I've jumped on board the "bob bandwagon". Elle and I got the same haircut, it was pretty fun. I chopped about 9 inches off and was able to donate it to Pantene's "Beautiful Lengths" program (http://www.beautifullengths.com/en_US/index_home.jsp). They make wigs for cancer patients. They have the shortest length requirement (8 inches) and that helped me make up my mind to cut it. It's a bit of an adjustment, but I love it and think it'll be great for summer.

First Signs of Summer

Well, I think it's about here: A/C on, check. 100+ degrees, check. Kids in the pool, check. Costco-sized sunblock, check. Popsicles, check. Kids on the trampoline with the hose, check. And school's almost out. Summer, here we come!

In other news, Mae has become quite the little person lately. She started crawling this past week, and she's finally craving solids. She claps constantly and loves to watch her siblings play. Elle is the constant diva. She's definitely in terrible two's mode, although she'll melt your heart with "I love you", or "I miss you". And the boys are obsessed with MarioKart Wii. I have to admit, I kinda like it too. They had field day last Friday and were so proud to wear the tie-dye shirts. We're looking forward to a lazy summer!

Lose a Tooth, Get a Tooth

I can't keep up with the teeth in this family, but did need to give Jonah his due post about losing his second tooth a couple weeks ago. The tooth fairy barely made it in time before he woke up that morning. Talk about a panic attack!

Mae also finally cut her first two bottom teeth right around the same time. They are very small and cute and sharp!

Mother's Day

Didn't get a chance to post on Mother's Day, but it was great. Bud got the kids one of those recordable cards and had the twins record their sweet little voices on it. Elle carries it around everywhere and loves to listen to the message and the song "You're Unbelievable" play over and over again. On top of flowers, chocolates, bubble bath, breakfast and cards, the best gift I got was from Mae. She's been sleeping through the night pretty consistently and it's been so nice! I can't believe the difference it makes in my day. Maybe Bud will get his "nice wife" back soon. : )

I have such amazing examples all around me and am thankful for the emphasis our church places on the importance of women, mother's and especially family. I think I beat myself up too much trying to be as good as the next mom, but the truth is I'm doing the best I can and if my kids can understand just a little bit how much I love them and feel like home is where they always want to end up, then I'm doing ok. I'm so grateful to be a mother. It's truly the only thing I want to do right now. I love these children with my whole heart and am so humbled to be responsible for such wonderful little people.

It's Been Awhile...

Haven't posted in a while because well, the past two weeks kind of sucked. I don't want to dwell, but here's a little taste:

Double ear infection
Doctor appointments
Stomach flu
Colds
Hospital
Pneumonia
Centipede
Head lice scare
Sinus infection
Cancelled weekends with friends

Anyway, things are getting much better and it makes me that much more grateful for my health!

(Sorry no pics, I don't think anyone really wants to see any of these things.)
